About the Area
While the two share the same beach, Daytona Beach Shores is in fact its own municipality with a separate police department and organizational structure. And while Dayton beach includes area that’s inland (across the bridge and not on the ocean) Daytona beach shores is exclusively on the ocean side. If you’ve been to both, you will notice that Daytona Beach is cleaner and safer, which is why many choose to vacation and retire here.
Daytona Beach Shores is one of the best places to live in Florida. It’s not as loud and crowded as Miami yet has more nature and beauty to offer than Orlando. Daily living is less expensive but the quality of living is just as high as other cities in Florida. The nature, activities and restaurants are second to none in Daytona Beach Shores.
As of 2023, the beach is open. There are fewer entrances to the beach as they are being prepared but as long as the tide isn’t too close, you can access the beach, swim and go for bike rides.
If you take an aerial shot of Daytona Beach Shores, it technically is an island. The island cuts off at Ponce Inlet on the south and the Matanzas Inlet Bridge in the North. While most people don’t look at Daytona Beach Shores as an island, it certainly has the vibe of one.
Daytona Beach Shores is one of the best retirement spots, not only in Florida but in the entire United States. Less expensive than Fort Lauderdale, Cocoa Beach and West Palm Beach but you still enjoy the same beauty and luxury.
The nicest parts of Daytona Beach include Seabreeze, the Daytona Beach Boardwalk, Beach Street and the ground of the International Speedway. It’s also close to beautiful spots like New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach Shores and Ponce Inlet.
Daytona Beach ocean water is pretty clear for the most part. A lot of this will depend on the current and time of the year.
In Daytona Beach you can enjoy miles of coastline with beautiful water and clean, white sand. Less waves than the Pacific Ocean making for a more relaxing adventure.
Any month! Most people visit Florida during the winter month to escape the winter. While the climate is clearly warmer than most other US states, it’s still very pleasant and doesn’t get too hot in the winter months. July and August can get pretty steamy but people manage to visit Florida all year round.
Depends where you look. If you’re looking for short to medium-term rental, Airbnb tends to unfairly overcharge. If you visit independent websites and contact owners directly, you can save upwards of 30% on your booking. In Daytona Beach Shores, you can find rentals from $2,700 a month all the way to $10,000 / month
Yes. Website like vaicays.com have made it possible for visitors to enjoy the beauty of Miami, Daytona Beach Shores, Orlando, Tampa and other great cities in the state.
Depends on how long you are staying and where you are staying. Anything south of Florida, close to Miami, you will be charged a premium. Booking hotels is extremely unreasonable. And booking via hosting sites like Airbnb and VRBO is starting to get very costly for renters. Booking from independent websites and private owners themselves is always the best idea for snowbirds. Booking with us, you get a personal approach and hopefully a long term relationship.
